        HKEY_C_U\Control Panel

          HKEY_C_U\Identities

            HKEY_C_U\InstallLationsMRU

Contains the locations from which programs were most recently installed.

NOTE: MRU stands for "most recently used."
The MRUList entry indicate the sequence in which the listed sources were used.

              HKEY_C_U\Keyboard Layout

Contains subkeys that contain values defining the current active keyboard layout, which you can set using the Keyboard tool in Control Panel.

                • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\preload
This key leads to a series of numbered subkeys - one for each installed language. Subkey 1 specifies the default language.

                • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\substitutes
If a keyboard language specified above is configured with a nondefault keyboard layout, a subkey with that language number appears here.

                • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\toggle
The string value in the Contents pane indicates the key combination that toggles between keyboard languages, as follows: 1 = Left Alt + Shift,   2 = Ctrl + Shift,   3 = None

                HKEY_C_U\Network

On a network system, if a network drive or folder is mapped to a local drive letter, a record of that connection appears under one or both of the 2 subkeys (persistent and recent).

                  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Network\persistent
If a checkmark is placed in the Reconnect at Logon box when the network drive or folder is mapped to a local drive letter, then this key leads to a subkey whose label is that driver letter.

                  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Network\recent
The same information is also stored under this subkey, but the format is slightly different.

                  HKEY_C_U\Remote Access

Contains address and profile subkeys for remote network access.

                    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Remote Access\Addresses
The Contents pane lists the current user's remote-access providers, such as the Microsoft Network, with additional details under the Profile subkey. On a system not set up for remote access, the name of the local computer is found here instead.

                    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Remote Access\Profile
This key leads to one or more subkeys, each named for one of the access providers listed in the Addresses key cited above.

                    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Remote Access\Profile\"Connection Name"
